7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) Compensation Structure
The Research Associate (RA) cadre at IIT Indore (IITI) is aligned with the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) recommendations and DST guidelines. For a Research Associate-I, the entry basic pay is set at Rs. 58,000 per month. Under the latest 7th CPC revisions, with Dearness Allowance (DA) at 53%, the DA component amounts to Rs. 30,740. House Rent Allowance (HRA) for Indore (classified as a Class Y city) is calculated at 20% of the basic pay, amounting to Rs. 11,600. Transport Allowance (TA) is structured at Rs. 3,600 plus DA (Rs. 5,508). This brings the Gross Monthly Salary to approximately Rs. 1,09,448. No normalization is applied as the final selection is primarily interview-driven; however, screening test marks (if conducted) are normalized using standard multi-session formulas if applicant volume is high.
There is no financial service bond, but selected Research Associates are expected to commit to the project for a minimum period of one year, extendable based on performance.
The position is purely temporary and contractual, initially for one year, extendable up to three years or project termination, subject to satisfactory annual performance reviews.
